The Nature of Awareness: A Retreat for Experienced Students at IMS

devon will be teaching a residential retreat for experienced students at the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, Massachusetts with Guy Armstrong, Sally Armstrong, Francisco Gable, and Mia Monos.

In this retreat we will explore the nature of awareness, or consciousness, which is at the heart of sentient life. Awareness is always with us, revealing the phenomena of our experience, yet we may not have learned how to use it as a focus in meditation. As we deepen our connection to this mysterious capacity for knowing, it becomes a powerful pathway to inner freedom and liberation.

The teachers strongly encourage participants to also attend the concentration retreat that immediately precedes this one, as a foundation in concentration is a great support for developing a clear connection to awareness. Optional mindful movement will be offered by Rasika Link.

Prerequisite: two silent vipassana retreats of 7 days or longer with recognized IMS or Spirit Rock teachers.
